Barakaldo, Vizcaya, 2018
In collaboration with Barakaldo City Council and the Bakeola Association, we created a community mural on the kiosk in Herriko Plaza, focusing on historical memory.
We held eight meetings with a group of citizens who contributed their knowledge and experiences, gathered information and documentation, and worked alongside artists and Bakeola representatives in the creative process.
The mural explores historical memory through the lens of Barakaldo’s identity, depicting the city’s development, key milestones, and its connection to national history—from the Civil War and Franco’s dictatorship to the transition to democracy.
Collaborating Artists: Nekane Manrique Mezquita and Iñaki Martinez Coco
