Villamaderne, Álava, 2020

The town council of Villamaderne, a small town in Álava, asked us to create a mural for the facade of their community center.

Residents shared some of their memories of the town, their childhoods, and their daily lives. They wanted to recapture the image of their mothers' and grandmothers' old kitchens, the warmth, the fire, their grandmother knitting—in short, that space that provided them with safety and comfort. A fitting image for a community center where, to this day, the town's residents gather to share food and connection.
